Partnership with Parents and Carers

Praised during our last two OFSTED inspections for our partnership with parents and carers, we recognise that parents and carers are the most important people in the lives of the children we care for and that we can only wholly cater for a child's needs when we work together.

When a child begins Kindergarten, he or she has already learned a great deal.  In order for us to build on these achievements we need to get to know the child and we do this by listening to the parents and carers.

At Kindergarten we cover the curriculums through a series of topics.  Information on the topic and the learning areas we are covering is always available to parents and carers.  In addition to this we give ideas for extending your child's learning at home and news of any special visits or dates or any items that need to be brought in.

Each of the topics covered at Kindergarten is carefully planned so that children receive stimulating experiences which extend their learning.  Every day we have focused activities where we monitor children's learning.  This provides us with information upon which we can base future planning and also hi-lights the achievements of individual children.  We use this information to provide you with an annual report on your child's development.  We strongly advise that any reports on your child should be shared with your child's reception teacher on leaving Kindergarten.

In order to keep you updated on news such as funding arrangements, staff training, special events etc we provide a newsletter approximately once every month.  We also hold "Information Evenings" and Parents/Carers Liaison Meetings and we are always available to discuss any concerns you may have or to share information with you about your child.
